Moloko didn’t become chart-huge until much later in their career.
Tracks like “Sing It Back” and “The Time Is Now” only exploded after club remixes turned them into dancefloor staples, proving once again that DJs sometimes know better than labels.

Moloko’s early albums were deliberately weird and left-field, blending trip-hop, disco, house, and pure eccentricity at a time when genres were meant to stay in their lanes. They didn’t care. It worked.

Moloko started as a studio-based duo, not a live band, built around producer Mark Brydon and singer Róisín Murphy, who originally met when she interrupted him at a party to critique the music. Strong opening move.
